Monte
Cello’s celebrated its Silver Anniversary in 2005
Serving the Greater Pittsburgh area for 25 years.
We hope to continue the tradition of serving you –
our customers - for another 25 and more.
It all began on that Thursday morning June 5, 1980.
The original owners: Ron Daniels, Joe Wadlow and Domenic
Ricci and their wives Barbara, Marcia and Christine
fired-up the ovens for the very first time.
The small pizza shop, with its roots in the Abruzzo
region of Italy (where Domenic was born) soon blossomed
into a thriving full-service restaurant. As expansion
began to Wexford and Downtown, the “Monte Cello’s”
name became synonymous with great homemade pizza and
sauces made from scratch!
After 25 years and well over 125 million slices of pizza
sold (and eaten), Monte Cello’s is proud to boast
of locations from Downtown Pittsburgh to Zelienople
and Hampton to Sewickley.
One of the Monte Cello’s secrets of success is
the daily care and time taken to make fresh menu items
including pizza dough, sauces and soups from scratch.
However, the most important ingredient of the Monte
Cello’s recipe is “never sacrificing quality
while always keeping the family budget in mind!”
